Emphasis on softness

Islam has a great emphasis on soft behavior. It is highly liked by Allah. Pharaoh was a king who disobeyed Allah by all means and called himself a god. He killed the sons of Israel and left daughters to live.Yet, Allah is merciful. He gives chances before punishing the disobedient. Allah told Musa and his brother Haroon A..S that they have been chosen by Allah for His work of going to Pharaoh. He prophesied them go to him (Pharoah) and talk gently so that Pharaoh can listen to you and understand your message that I give it to you (Surah Taha, Ayat: 43-44). I was amazed at my little knowledge that how great Allah is and how His mercy is unlimited. He could have sent them with anger and dominance and used His authority to punish Pharoah on the spot. Nonetheless, He sent them to be kind and polite in their message so that Pharoah listens to them carefully with a sane mind and decide whether to become a Muslim or not. Reading this verse, I realized how aggressive and defensive we get when people hurt us, blame us, mock at us, disrespect us, curse us and instead of talking gently we become some degrees more hurtful and disrespectful and call spade a spade. This verse makes us learn the importance of being gentle and polite so that matters can be discussed and solved and decisions can be taken by understanding the matter with a sane mind and a clear heart. May we become people that Allah wants us to be by reading His message, His Quran. Ameen!
